DeafBlind/Support Service Provider (SSP) and CoNavigator (CN) Training

The DeafBlind/Support Service Provider (SSP) and CoNavigator (CN) Training is a free, hands-on professional development workshop presented by the North Carolina Division of Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DSDHH) and the DeafBlind Immersion Training Team. This interactive training is designed for interpreters, pre-certified interpreters, Deaf community members, educational professionals, and individuals interested in supporting the DeafBlind community. Participants will gain a foundational understanding of DeafBlind culture and communication, the roles and responsibilities of Support Service Providers and CoNavigators, human guide techniques, providing visual environmental information, and available state and national DeafBlind resources. The training will be conducted in American Sign Language (ASL) with English interpretation available upon request. Attendees will receive 0.7 Professional Studies (PS) CEUs, and light refreshments will be provided. This DeafBlind training in Asheville, NC, offers valuable learning opportunities for those interested in Support Service Provider training, CoNavigator training, DeafBlind services, ASL professional development, interpreter continuing education, and DeafBlind community resources in North Carolina. Registration is free but required by October 9, 2026, and space is limited to 40 participants.
