Virtual ASL Storytelling Time for Children
Date: February 13, 2026
Time: 10:00AM
Location: Virtual (Zoom)
Families are invited to join the DSDHH Asheville Regional Center for a live ASL Storytelling Time for Children, presented by Deaf storytellers dedicated to preserving the rich traditions of Deaf culture. Each session features a different Deaf ASL storyteller and includes stories carefully chosen for their authentic representation of Deaf characters, Deaf authors, CODA perspectives, and creators connected to the Deaf and interpreting communities.
This virtual storytelling series offers young children an engaging opportunity to develop language through ASL, experience expressive narratives, and build cultural connection from home. Parents and children can participate using any device with WiFi access, such as a computer, tablet, or smartphone.
For Zoom access or questions, contact Nelky Perez, Deaf Services Specialist with the DSDHH Asheville Regional Center, at Nelky.Perez@dhhs.nc.gov
