Event Description
The Hands & Voices Latino Council invites Spanish-speaking families to a virtual workshop, Preparing for the Unexpected, designed to support parents and caregivers raising Deaf and Hard of Hearing children. This online forum focuses on empowering families through practical tools, shared experiences, and guidance on organizing essential documents that are vital to a child’s educational and medical journey.
During this session, participants will learn how to manage and organize important records such as audiograms, appointments, and IEP documents, while engaging with a supportive community of families navigating similar experiences. The workshop aims to strengthen confidence, preparedness, and advocacy within Deaf and Hard of Hearing family systems.
This event is held entirely in Spanish and is ideal for parents, guardians, and professionals seeking Deaf family support, Hard of Hearing resources, Spanish-language Deaf education, and Latino Deaf community events.
