NEW ASL BOOK CLUB is a virtual Deaf culture and American Sign Language (ASL) book discussion series hosted by Hands United. This ASL book club brings together interpreters, educators, students, parents, and advocates to engage in meaningful discussion around A Man Without Words by Susan Schaller, a powerful true story exploring language deprivation, Deaf identity, communication access, and language justice. Participants will examine Deaf culture, Deaf education, advocacy, and the impact of language access through guided discussion in ASL, with interpretation available upon request. This Deaf community book club is ideal for anyone interested in ASL education, Deaf history, interpreting, and communication equity.
